On-site inspection of the Eastern Mining Railway Project

In accordance with the instructions of the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Mr. Saïd Saïoud, regarding coordination with the National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investment Projects, aimed at removing all obstacles hindering the proper implementation of the Eastern Mining Railway Line Project, the Director General of the National Railway Transport Company (SNTF), Mr. Aadj Bouaouni, accompanied by the Director General of the National Agency for Studies and Monitoring of Railway Investment Projects, Mr. Azzedine Fridi, conducted a field visit to the construction sites of the Eastern Mining Railway Line linking Annaba – Tébessa – Djebel El Onk – Blad El Hadba, in the presence of executives from both institutions and the general managers of the contracting companies.

The visit included three (3) main stops:

First stop – Annaba Province:
This province hosts part of the northern section connecting Annaba to Bouchegouf, stretching over 54 km.
At the kilometric point 03 (PK03), the two directors inspected the ongoing works on the section currently in operation.

Second stop – Annaba Freight Station:
They examined the ongoing works on the service tracks of the station and inspected areas where train traffic has been suspended.
In this context, both directors agreed to establish a coordination committee responsible for the daily monitoring of works on the operating sections and to increase the pace of interventions by temporarily halting train traffic on sections undergoing modernization and double-tracking works, with the goal of completing the works and resuming normal train operations as soon as possible.

Third stop – PK06:
At the kilometric point 06 (PK06), the directors, accompanied by the general managers of the construction companies, visited one of the modernization and double-tracking sites on the operational network, where they observed rehabilitation works on the lower platform.

The visit concluded with an evaluation meeting, co-chaired by the two directors general, focusing on the progress of works across all sections of the project.
