Periodic monitoring of strategic activities

In implementation of the instructions from the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Transport regarding the need for periodic monitoring of strategic activities, the Director General of the National Railway Transport Company (SNTF), Mr. Ajag Bouaouni, chaired a meeting at the headquarters of the General Directorate, in the presence of Mr. Wagnouni Faisal, CEO of the subsidiary company, Energy Products Transport Company (STPE), which is the result of a partnership between SNTF and Naftal, aimed at ensuring regular and secure supply of fuel to various regions across the country.

During this meeting, the issue of fuel transport by rail, considered a vital and strategic commodity, was discussed. Detailed explanations were presented to the Director General regarding the transport plan for this commodity and the provinces supplied via the national railway network.
It should be noted that the volume of fuel transported by rail amounts to approximately 1,800,000 tons per year, reflecting the pivotal role of the company in ensuring the supply of this vital commodity to various regions of the country.

During the meeting, the Director General provided instructions to ensure close monitoring of fuel train movements to guarantee smoother transport and supply operations, calling for reinforcement of the transport capacity towards the High Plateaus and the Far South, and increasing the quantities transported to meet the growing national demand.

The Director General also gave several directives regarding the transport of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to study the possibility of resuming the transport of this commodity as well as fuel from Sidi Bel Abbès towards the Southwest, particularly along the Béchar-Tindouf-Gar Djebilet axis.

Finally, the Director General ordered the acceleration of the rehabilitation of 40 tank wagons with a capacity of 65 m³, which will allow an increase of approximately 10% in the total fuel transport capacity by rail.

We are committed to providing safe, reliable, and comfortable railway transportation for all our passengers, while contributing to sustainable development and the modernization of the national railway network.
